Reception applications should be submitted by Sunday 15th January 2023
We are a one form entry school with 30 places per school year. In accordance with Hertfordshire County Council, we have a single intake at the beginning of the autumn term in September. See Herts County Council website for admission details.
Parents should be aware that having a place in our Nursery does not automatically guarantee a place in Reception. All parents who would like a Reception place for their child must make a separate application through Hertfordshire County Council as they are responsible for allocating places.
Families moving into the area, who want to apply for a place in any year group at the school should contact Admissions at Hertfordshire County Council Tel: 0333 123 4040 to check if there are places available.
Please see our latest document advertising our Nursery – nursery2021

NURSERY FUNDING and Costs
Every child is assigned the first 15 hours from 9:00 am-12:00 pm each day, and the second 15 hours depend on eligibility. Please click here to check eligibility.
If you are not eligible for the 30 hours funding you can pay the school privately for the additional hours.
The additional nursery hours from 12:00-3:00 pm will be at a cost of £15.00 per afternoon.
If we are oversubscribed for Nursery we will use the following Hertfordshire County Council admission rules:
Children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs which names the school will be allocated a place in accordance with section 324 of the Education Act 1996.
Parents may state their preference as to which nursery they would like their child to attend in the years leading up to the child’s fifth birthday. However, if there are not enough places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
a) Children in public care (children looked after)
b) A child at risk (or the sibling of a child at risk) who is the subject of an inter-agency child protection plan.
c) Other applicants where the following criteria are considered to determine priorities:
1. Children for whom it can be demonstrated that they have a particular medical or social need to go to the school.
2. Children who have a sibling at the school at the time of application, unless the sibling is in the last year of the normal age-range of the school. Note: the normal age range is the designated range for which the school provides.
3. Any other children.
If more children qualify under a particular rule than there are places available, a tie break will be used by applying the next rule to those children. If more children qualify under criterion 2 than there are places available, priority will be given to those who live nearest to the nursery as measured in a straight line. Where there is a need for a tie-breaker where two different addresses measure the same distance from a school, in the case of a block of flats for example, the lower door number will be deemed nearest as logically this will be on the ground floor and therefore closer. If there are two identical addresses of separate applicants, the tie break will be random.
